Couldn't complain about the wines served in flight although the staff seemed a bit bemused when I asked for a tasting. Lucky enough to be flying Emirates business class on QFF points.

Stunning views of French Alps as we flew in to Lyon.

Stayed in a two-star hotel in Lyon on the second floor of an apartment building. Owned by an energetic and helpful young couple. Close to nearly all tourist sights. Only downside was lack of air conditioning in this sweltering heatwave. Owners had set up two fans in my comfortable room, which worked well - good bed and new bathroom with plumbing that worked. Wifi free but temperamental.
